Kuja's First Impression Ratings:

  • Gameplay and mechanics: 4/5
  • Optimization for PC: 4/5
  • Graphics and art style: 5/5
  • Story and characters: 4/5
  • Atmosphere and soundtrack: 4/5
  • Multiplayer/community features: N/A
  • Ending hook: N/A

When reviewing new games, I prefer to start with the negative. However, I have only played through the first two levels and feel I can't fully speak to all ratings quite yet! I did play the demo some time ago and it was refreshing to see a handful of updates to the fully released game (including more of a story-driven narrative).

If you are looking for a cozy, low-pressure game that is aesthetically pleasing and offers cozy vibes, Urban Jungle would be an excellent game to check out! The gameplay is simple, yet engaging; stress-free, but offers a slight challenge from its puzzle aspect. If you played Unpacking and enjoyed it, this game offers incredibly similar feelings! I'm looking forward to exploring Urban Jungle more to unlock additional spaces, more plants, and more of the story!

  • Atmosphere and soundtrack: 5/5

Starting with the negative - my only issue was that the game crashed a few times while playing through the demo and my PC was running a little hot. So optimizing the game a bit more could be a potential solution.

I love a mysterious storyline and the We Stay Behind demo certainly has me excited for the release of the full game! I rated this demo fairly high, largely due to the overall atmosphere of the game. It is beautiful. I also am incredibly intrigued by the storyline which was driven by interviews and dialogue with other characters, and you soon discover that you are having past and present conversations. There's something dark and mysterious about this story and it makes me want to unravel the secrets.

Excitement for full game release: 5/5
